Great Hotel and amazing staff

The staff right from checkin onwards was just amazing. they promptly accomodated our room change request when we werent happy with the view. The property is right besides Nile and they have the most amazing deck overlooking the river. At sunset you can see an amazing view of sail boats on the river with the setting sun in the background. Certainly value for money in every way I can imagine. Skip the big brands and go for this.

Super friendly staffs

We had a great time, beautiful and luxury hotel. The staff is AMAZING, specially “Nagha” a lady whose take care us at the swimming pool bar. She is so much extra care in the details of our lunch. Highly recommend to stay here.

Very Good

It was great. Clean and nice hotel. Japanese food very good but the Italian restaurant should need a upgrade. Big thanks to Mr Hanna at the door bell who helped us alot with checkout.

Perfect Luxor hotel

All staff from Nardine and Marviey in guest relations to Nagha by the pool and the cleaning staff were exceptional- went out of their way to help us. Facilities were good and Nile side location perfect. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful

This hotel had a variety of restaurants where I didn't have to leave property to find food. The whirlpool tub was wonderful as my legs were so sore from climbing stairs all day site-seeing.

The location made me nervous at first going outside because people were always trying to sell you something or go on horse and buggy ride.

Exceptional

The room was amazing. We got a free upgrade to suite room. It was great. Spacious, with 2 balconies, private terrace with sunbeds and amazing view over the Nile. The price for the room was very reasonable (at least for the one we originally paid, I'm not sure what is the real price of a suite ). Our stay was short but we enjoyed it.

Price for the drinks in restaurant bar and dinner buffet is a little bit too much. Room service prices on the other hand are quite reasonable.

10/10!!! Best hotel

The best hotel without a doubt, I always felt very welcomed like home, the location is excellent, the food was very delicious, the room was super comfortable and clean, I was very very happy with my stay but above all the attention of the staff was INCREDIBLE!!! I especially feel grateful to Abdallah for helping me with all my questions and always being on the lookout, his treatment to me was incredible! I will definitely come back to this hotel!

Staff very helpful and polity.

The internet is free only in the reception and the quality is terrible (very slow). Allowing smoking in the main areas and restaurants was also a big negative point. The room facing the street was very noisy (the balcony glass doors had no soundproofing).

Great value for money

Best thing: 1. Breakfest is amazing and provide so much options and best in the world i have ever had. 2. Free breakfast. 3. Very friendly and helpfull staff. 4. They try and keep it clean but so stuffy hotel rooms and so much cleaning products at lobey it gets you sick. 5. The best view from the hotel looking at the nile and valley of queens and kings and towards the city and tour sites. 6. Hotel back view and pool looked amazing and the restaurant looking.

1. It is actually a bit of walk to luxor temple and luxor city and Karnak. 2. In room service took felt forever more than an hour to get to us. 3. Free water not deleivered for 4 days Or No coffee or tea refil for 4 days, granted i did put up the dont disturb sign in the morning but after they make the rooms it wasnt done as i think it is a diffrent person who does this, however the other 4 days they did do it once i called them each of the days. 4.Shower doesnt move and Water not adjusting accurately in heat/ cold and No fan in shower/ bathroom. 5.Wrong room given / twin insead of double as ordered or asked but they did merge our 2 beds and it was so big bed and massive in size. 5.In room order first thing fly came out of it, also not as big as thought and expensive. 6. When you arive some one takes your lauge and you need to give them money. 7. Daily house keeping is given but forgot to give us towels. 8. Room is dusty and old. 9. Very far from tourist sites compared to other hotels and to be honest over priced for room dustyness and distance. 10. Very expensive resturant down stairs.

A bell boy is trying not to give us luggages if we don’t let him carry to the room (we know you want some service tips from us). So surprised that he waited to ask me about my room number in front of the restroom!! I remembered I booked a room for foreigner, but then front staff informed that I booked a room for Egyptian citizen. So she charged me 5-6$ for extra.

Hotel staff was very nice and friendly! Hotel is centrally located and the pool area is very nice!

The staff was very attentive and nice at the front desk! The place is clean its in a good location. The wifi is free in the lobby but you can pay extra to have in your room. Having to come down to use the wifi makes you encounter other patrons! Wasn't a bad thing I met some wonderful people in the lobby while we all are surfing the web lol! The price is very good I would recommend this hotel and I would come back!

We stayed 2 nights and didn't spend more than 6 hours total on the property we just slept lol! Our room did not get cleaned while we were out exploring Luxor because you have to turn over the card in the room to clean it! Never was told that at check in we had no idea, so we had to call up for more towels as we had soiled them and placed them on the floor thinking our room would be serviced.

Tour operators kinda of hotel

The room is very old. In front of the hotel, there will be taxi and horse carriage, where they will horn all day all night, but especially the evening. It gets real noisy. Sometimes they fight and the police will come. You can watch live ‘show’ from your room. Check in take hours because you have to wait for your room to clean even though it was 3 pm.

What was the highlight of Sonesta St. George Hotel

Not value for money, specially after the extra 26% of random taxes we had to pay in the end.

There was a large breakfast with a lot of variety! The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly.

When we arrived we were told to wait 10 minutes for our room to be ready, It took them 1 hour! When we got to our room which was supposed to be a double room, there were two single beds. After complaining at the reception they asked someone to come and join the two singles beds to make a double. So another 40 min wait for the room. The lobby downstairs where we waited for all this has an imaginary division between the smoking and non-smoking areas, therefore the whole lobby is filled with cigarette smoke! WiFi is NOT free! You have to buy a super expensive WiFi card from the lobby! When we were settling the bill, there was a random 26% (10% service, 16% tax, 1% city tax) extra charge that we had to pay. This was never mentioned on Booking.com, and throughout our stay in Egypt it was the only time we had to pay that! They couldn’t explain why!
